Fan Encounters with Lance

Jennifer's First Story:

It was the first day of Fan Fair week in Nashville, TN 2001 and I had been watching MWL since it debuted. (I might have missed a few shows because of guitar lessons lol) It was before the show about 3:00 that afternoon. Me, my mom and sister had just finished touring the new Country Music Hall of Fame and there he was with that cute little face of his, The Man, Lance Smith. I wanted to go talk to him but I was too nervous, and my mom wanted to take me to my hopefully future college Belmont University before the show started, since we had a while to go, So I had to leave Lance, but when I came back, I saw him again. My Mom told me to go ask for a picture, so I walked over there and said hey Lance and he said Hey, and something else. I said, "can I get a picture with you?" and he said "yeah sure" So I went to take my picture and my sister had followed me and was in the picture too. After we took the picture I said thank you and he said you're welcome and stuff. Then when I got back over to my mom I said I wanted it to be just me and Lance not with my sister in it (I know that I am 15 and acting like a baby but I wanted a picture of me and Lance to frame because I was like in love with him) So she said well go ask him for another one and I didn't want to bother him. When we got over there, a lot of other girls were asking for pictures so I waited my turn while I watched him smile (I love his smile). Then when I got up there I said "Lance, can I please get another picture with you?" And he laughed and said sure, so I took another picture with him. He was so nice that day. I just can't tell you how he made me feel. I also got to meet my favorite band Lonestar that same day too. I have that picture of me and Lance in a frame by my bed I love that picture. Lance was the favorite person I met at Fan Fair that year. I don't watch MWL as much as I used to because Lance ain't on it, but I watch it sometimes. I watch the Top 20 countdown every chance I get though and everything else that involves Lance. I just love him. He is so nice and sweet and he really shows that he loves God.

Jennifer's Second Story:

This years list of people of who I wanted to meet was totally different from

last years list. This year Lance was #1. Friday the first thing I did was go to

the CMT truck to see if Lance was there. He wasnt there so me and my mom went

somewhere else. It was about 12:00 and me and my mom were in the line to wait to

meet Tracy Lawrence. We had an hour untill it was time for us to meet him. I

asked my mom if she would go over to the CMT truck and ask if Lance was going to

be at Fan Fair and if so where and when. So she went while I held our spot in

line. She came back a few minutes later and said that they said he would be

there but they didnt know actually what time but they were going to find out so

my mom told me to go ask and see what they tell me. So I went over there and

they told me basically the same thing but it should be really soon. So I went

back in line and my mom said that she would go over there and wait by the CMT

truck for Lance for me while I stayed in line for Tracy. She wasnt gone but like

3 minutes and she basically ran back and told me that Lance had just gotten

there. So she stayed in line while I ran back over to the CMT truck. I saw Lance

and I got in line. He looked soooo good. I took picture after picture while I

waited to meet him. Finally it was my turn. I walked up to Lance. He said Hey

whats your name. I said Jennifer. While he was signing my picture and my cowboy

hat I told him that the top 20 was my most favorite show and I watched it all

the time. He laughed and got that little sweet embaressed look lol and said 4

real. I said yeah. He said well thanks for watching b/c of folks like you I

gotta job. I laughed and told him that I tell all my friends to watch the show

so they can see you. He thought that was funny. He told me to keep watching b/c

he was going to be in some movies coming up and I said cool. I told him I had

wrote him an email a few weeks ago and he asked me if he had wrote me back yet.

I told him no. He said that he would write me back as soon as he could. Finally

I asked him if i could take a picture of him he said yeah sure and he smiled and

waved at the camera. We said our goodbyes and I ran back over to my mom to see

Tracy, I only had like 5 minutes left before he would be there. I was shaking

when I showed my mom the picture and telling her everything that was said. She

asked me if i got somebody to take a picture of me and him. I told her no b/c he

was up on the truck. She said well I want a picture of you and him. So after we

met Tracy we went back over to the CMT truck to see if Lance would take a

picture with me. When I got back up there he had just ran out of pictures of him

but I got him to autograph my autograph book since i already had a picture. My

mom said Lance, can I get a picture of the two of yall. He said yeah sure let me

get down. So I stood there while I watched him drink a sip of water and climb

down off the truck. My mom took the picture and she said thank you so much. He

said your welcome or something like that. Me and my mom walked away and she said

so you ready to go home now and i was like yeah lol. That was the best part of

Fan Fair I have ever had. My mom said that she was going to write him and tell

him that out of all the people I met at Fan Fair that the signed picture of him

was my most prized possession. Lance is such a sweetie and a cutie too!!!
