CMT Got Me In With the Band Blake Shelton Photos and story courtesy of lucky winner, Jennie. DAY 1: I didn't live within the 100 miles radius of Plymouth. So I ended up starting at a friend Mareget's house that I met at a Blake's concert in November. I was just hanging around the house. We decided to order pizza and have it delivered. The pizza was taking forever to get there and then the pizza places call and they were lost. (It was a plan between the CMT crew and MM to get the crew there and surprise me). I was sitting with my back turned to the glass door. and I thought I heard the "pizza man" I turned around and all I could see was a camera throw the doors and I screamed and when I turned around again I saw Lance Smith standing there with a pizza in his hand. I went to the door and Lance said that I was in the band with Blake. All I could say was OMG, I was in complete shock. The crew came into the house and they brought 2 pizzas and 2 things of hot wings. We sat down and ate pizza with Lance and the crew. I was sitting there in complete shock I really couldn't say anything. They put a mic on me. Lance was yip yapping alot. He was wicked funny and easy going and just said random things.They set up an interview places in the backyard. After we ate we went out there and they interviewed me. The producer Debra asked me questions and I had to respond to them. The main theme of the topic was what I did on my video. In the contest rules they said to be creative and original. So I decided to wash my hair in eggs and ketchup. (yes i know he was kidding). After that they went in and interviewed MM and asked her a few questions about me and all. After that Lance and I sat on the couch and talked and went through my scrapbook and talked about different things. When they were done with all the interviews they had to do some taping when Lance was first walking up. So they went outside and taped it over and over again (magic of television). And then they left and I was to meet up with them tomorrow. I got wicked nervous that night to a point I thought I was goin to be sick. I was kinda scared of the cameras and always having them around lol. DAY 2: I meet the crew at the radio station called Cat 98.1. I did an interview on live air with Lance at 8. It was a wicked neat experience I never been in a radio station before. I hafta call monday and tell them about about my experience. From there we road to plymouth in the CMT truck. Lance and I chatted on and off camera. We went to the Radissons hotel and the crew took me to breakfast and had a production meeting. They didn't want me to run into blake until the plan moment. So when i got up to go the ladies room people had to be infront of me to make sure he was no wheres in sight of him lol. Then we did the taping for coming into the hotel. When I was in the CMT truck blake showned up in the lobby. So Lance was trying to cover my eyes and told me not to look. It was wick funny. Blake went up stairs to his room to get fresh up. And Lance took me into the lobby to wait for Blake. Lance was like this is kinda like waiting for your prom date. Maybe Blake will come down in a dress. I was like I hope not that might be scary lol. When Blake was ready they took Lance up there to Blake to walk him to me. During that Lance told Blake that I had a rash that he needs to say 5 ft away from me. (tony the camera guy told me he said that) lol, I was looking up and i could see Blake's white hat coming and I started to get nervous. Then he comes down the stairs and Lance said something like Jennie come here and meet Blake. Blake gave me a hug. And I told him that I did have a rash. They didn't think I knew that Lance said that. From there we got into the CMT truck to do some sight seeing. In the truck I talked with Blake and he told me that the hair things was a joke. That when he was doing that he didn't know the answers to most of the questions so he started to make it up. lol He told the driver to hit a big bump or a sharp turn so the sound guy out back will go flying around the back of the truck. He kinda forgot he had a mic on so he could hear everything he was saying and saying to knock on the window and say hey. lol We did some sight seeing in Plymouth. We went to the Plymouth Plantation. Blake saying how we are going back in time to the 1600's and all. When we got up to the M&M machine there was a picture of pilgrims on it. And he was saying how they were the really pilgrims of back then they were stars and Britany Sprears was going to be on there next lol. He just came up with random and funny stories. It was so funny. From there the reactors did a show on piking. It was with this pole that was about 10-12ft in height with a sharp end. It was the way they protect themselves. Well they did a demo for about 15 minutes it seemed. And they had Blake aka "Master Shelton" learn how to do it. He then joined the group of pilgrims and did it with them. It seemed like forever. When blake was trying to step out of it the leader told him to get back in line. Lance and i couldn't help but laugh at him. If you ever see him ask him how he like piking. He wasn't to pleased about that. He told the camera crew that they need to get rid of the tape because it was embarrassing lol. From there we went to by a chicken and he told us what kind of chicken it was bc he said that is something he knows about. Then we went to see the gun demo where they showed up how they used the old guns. They tried shooting it off 3 times but it didn't work. We walked around the plantation for a little bit and went into the different house. When we left the Plantation we went to see the Mayflower. When we were walking, he stopped and talked to different people and inntoduced himselfs. I thought that was cool. We got a short tour of the Mayflower and looked around a bit. When we were done sight seeing we went to the venue. At the venue I was able to see them set up the stages. And they crew turned off the cameras, and i sat with blake and whole bunch of his people and just talked about different things. I was able to meet Mark Wills for a little bit when he join in. Then Blake went to go do an interview and I talked with Katt, Lance, and blake's Manager for a while. When Blake came back he asked me if I wanted to meet the band. So he took me up on stage and introduce me the band. They were all wick nice to me. Blake had Scott play different random songs he played the show chicago theme song and Blake started to sing it until Scott changed the song on him lol. Then they started sound check. they had me sit on stage for that. It was wick interesting seeing how it all comes together. It took about an hour. They let my friends come in at the end of sound check and Blake went up to them and talked to them for a little bit. From there I went to supper with the CMT crew and was goin to meet up with blake later. After dinner I went to go work with the Larry at the mechadice table. That was so much fun. I was able to sell the stuff. Larry kept on trying to tell me something new about Blake but i already knew it lol. Larry was great. I had lots of fun. He gave me a t-shirt to keep and wear. I was there for an hour. Then Lance come to get me and he gave my all access pass for the night. He took me to the stage so I could see the show. I stood on the stage off on the side. It was neat to see how people react because you can see all the fans faces. Lance introduced Blake. In the middle of the concert he called me out and introduced me to the crowd. It was weird being up there and having everyone looking at you. He said my last name wrong lol... (thats ok everyone does). When I was walking back to were i was standing I tripped over the speaker and fell. I am glad the camera wasn't there at that point of time and no one saw me except Lance...The concert was AWESOME. There were fans dancing in the middle, and a bunch of fans gathered infront of the stage. After the concert I was taken up to the meet and greet room to meet up with Blake. I helped Katt out with the cameras. When meet and greet was done Blake came up to me started to pat my head. And i was trying to pat his but i couldn't reash hewas like what are you doin to short huh. I finaling got it. Then he took me onto his tour bus. When I went on the bus the most of the band was there. Katt gave me the tour of the bus which was cool. Blake gave me a gift I thought it was so sweet. He gave me 3 shirts one that no one can buy, a tack top isn't onsale yet, and the dreamer t-shirt. He also gave me a picture and a keychain and a bunch of guitar picks. He also gave me a bottle of the Ol'red wine (which i thought was fun bc i am under age)lol... I hanged out for a little bit and then hadda say goodbye to him.. I watched the rest of the Mark Wills concert and then went back to the hotel to finish up my last interview..... That was my day in a nut shell. I had so much fun you guys. It was great. I felt so comfortable around everyone.
