"As for the websites and message boards, I love everything that you guys do. I know that it is difficult without any information, but that will soon change. I have been very busy. I've now signed on for a small part in a Larry the Cable Guy movie coming soon. It's only a few lines as a cameo but it's a start. We haven't shot it yet so anything could happen but that's what's happening right now. The birthday books mean more to me than you know. I'm sorry that you didn't know I had received it. Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. I wish I had been more involved at Fan Fair this year but as usual I was busy shooting. I did host the big shows Saturday and Sunday though. I will have to take you up on that offer to sign the board on the site. Hopefully I'll be so busy with larger projects in the future that you'll know more as it happens. For now, I just did a sports interview on with the Washington Post with Dan Steinberg. I attached it for you so you don't have to go to the website. Thanks again and tell everyone I said hello."

"Well if you thought I fell off the face of the Earth... I did. But somehow I've clawed my way back.

The website is no more. Not really on purpose. Another one was on it's way and was going to take it's place but that fell through and lancesmithonline faded away. Sorry. ... please have everyone send whatever they want to CMT.

Feel free to pass along the news to everyone else. The more people that watch that thing on ifilm.com then the more attention the director and I both get and we might get a free coke or something. ( I might be lying about the coke )

Hey hey everybody... wait... that's how I start the Top 20.  I guess I should
say something different.  Anyway we've got a really great show so let's get
right to it... just kidding.  Seriously, thank you so much for keeping track of
my career.  Everyone that has gone to a website or purchased a magazine or simply just tuned in to CMT to see what I'm doing, I owe you so much.  You truly are the greatest fans in the world and I hope you'll be around when I hit the silver screen (or little screen in your living room on some other channel...acting).  Fan Fair is coming up fast and maybe I'll get to meet a lot of you and see many familiar faces again.  Also, for a while now I've been trying to put together an official website of my own and I expect it within the month.  I'll keep you posted.  Until then I'll be on the tube counting down your favorites.
Take care.

Lance...

Hey guys!!! I thought I'd drop in and say hello. I've been
everywhere lately and the "Got me in with the Band" shows are
starting to air. I hope you've seen some of them. Anyway, as it
turns out, I'm going to be guest hosting MWL this Wed. Nickel Creek
will be on and it should be a pretty good show. So as usual, take
care and see ya soon.

Hello everyone!! I can't get over how much this place has grown.
Well Fan Fair was a huge success. The shows on CMT worked out great
and I had a blast. I signed for a few hours on Friday and a few
more on Saturday.

As for now, I'm currently working on the other side of my career. I
think a lot of you know that I'm an actor at heart and that is where
I'm headed in life. So any extra time off I have from CMT, I spend
it working on my film and television career. I'll let you know if
something is coming out that you should be looking for. Well that's
it from me. I hope everyone stays safe and until next time, keep
watching CMT.

love,
Lance

May 1, 2002:

Well lately my schedule has been keeping me pretty busy. CMT wants me to travel more, and I'm all for that as long as they let me sleep. I love to visit other towns and just get away. I can really put my life into prospective when I'm out of town. I'm so blessed and I don't ever want to forget that. Anyway, I think there is a new show in the works and I might be hosting it. So anyone out there that's a fan, keep your t.v.s on CMT. The ACM's are coming up and it look's like I'm sharing some of the red carpet duties with Greg and Katie. It's on May 22nd on CBS. Well until next time...see ya later.

Ok so I was just cruising around on the web because someone told me
this was here. I was actually just blown away! Thank you so much
for all of the positive support. Some of the photos were crackin' me
up. I don't care that they're there. I just think it's funny that I
don't even have them but here they are on the net. I was reading
some of the old messages and it was like going down memory lane. So
keep watching CMT and let me know what you think (lance.smith@cmt.com).

Thanks again,

"Well it is true that I am no longer on MWL.  However, I am hosting the top 20 countdown.  CMT wanted to be able to use me in many areas and MWL was taking up a lot of time.  Actually, the first show airs tonight. It will be on all weekend. So now I'm an "all around V J".

(These journals taken from LanceSmithOnline.com and I've decided to do an archive because they only keep the latest journal entry --- for the latest entry from Lance, go here. Sorry, I don't have all the entries that Lance has made.)

7-21-03
Okay, this whole "weekly" thing on the journal page is getting to be a little harder than anticipated. However, I do have lots to tell you. First of all the "Got me in with the Band" shoot was a blast. The winner, Jessie, was a lot of fun and totally flipped out when she met Joe. Not to mention she ran into Montgomery Gentry and Trick Pony as well. The day was long but well worth it. Look for that episode on CMT sometime around late August or early September.
Well, I need to say thank you to a couple of fans out there. Mariah and Brandi made a seven hour trek to Nashville just to stop by the set of MWL. They have also kept a secret until now. It's official. I am going to host the MWL tour featuring Rascal Flatts. There are around thirty shows and we'll be hitting all the major cities. So definitely look for me to be coming to your town! I'll post the schedule as soon as I'm allowed but keep checking out www.cmt.com for more details. Now because of the tour, I will not be hosting Most Wanted Live. Cledus and Katie will return.
Not that this journal section is my movie review page but I just have to say that I've seen some good ones lately. T 3 was incredible. The effects were spectacular and the story line was nice and smooth. League was so-so. Worth renting but I found myself going over my bills in my head in the theater. By far the best movie that I've seen this summer, or at least within the last month, is Pirates. Johnny Depp is fantastic. I couldn't wait for another scene with his character. There's room for a sequel so know that I'll be first in line for that one. Who knows, maybe I'll be in that one! I wish.
More pictures are on their way to the site. I've been trying to really compile a good collection and get some more "behind the scenes" type shots. Until then, thanks for visiting the site and take care.

8-7-03
Hey Hey I'm back once again!  I think some of you have seen it already but for those of you who haven't, I have an article in the latest edition of CMT magazine.  It's basically a summary of the Dwight Yoakam "Got me in with the Band" shoot.  I'm no writer but I try.

Let's see... hmmm.  What's happened in the past couple of weeks?  Well I was in Jupiter, Florida for less than 24 hours.  It was a record breaking Top 20 shoot, on location where Alan Jackson shot Five-o-Clock Somewhere.  And this is where I mention my fear of flying... I'm afraid to fly.  The trip down to Florida was delayed for almost four hours because of "technical difficulties".  Okay, if it's technically difficult to put that bird in the air then I "technically" don't want to be on the plane.  Every ten minutes or so, some guy would tell us that they were working on the problem but didn't have it quite fixed yet.  I'll tell you what the problem was, it's that we shouldn't be flying in the first place.  Alright, so maybe that's a little over dramatic.  Yes, commercial air travel has been one of the greatest innovations of all time, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.  I mean let's look at the facts.  It weighs nearly 200,000 lbs.  That's a lot of pie.  It's made of metal and filled with jet fuel and it screams through the clouds going over 500 mph at about 5 miles up in the air.  So at what point of adding these numbers up does somebody say "Yeah, put me on one."?  Apparently everyday.  I read somewhere that in some societies people would climb great cliffs and mountains to be closer to God.  Well, I don't necessarily believe you have to physically be higher in the air to achieve that goal, but I will say that I do talk to the Man Upstairs quite a bit as I board that plane.  So in closing, I just want everyone to know that in the future, if and when I can afford it, I will be the John Madden of actors.  I will take a bus wherever I may roam.  Looks like I'll just have to tour Europe from pictures.  I get sea sick.

9-25-03
Well my bags are packed and I'm ready to go.  Right now I'm about to hit the airport to fly to North Dakota for the first date of the tour.  And you all know what I think about flying.  I've included in my bag a digital camera so that you'll be able to see everything I see out on the road.  (Okay so now that I think about it, maybe not everything.  But I'll still get you some good pictures.)  By the way, look out for the Top 20 next weeked.  Martina drops by to talk about her new album.

I know this entry isn't very long but the tour starts tomorrow.  I'll have plenty to talk about then.  See ya.

10-10-03
So I've been on the road for a couple of weeks now and I can't believe the fan excitement at the shows.  It's insane.  My job is pretty easy considering it's not very hard to pump up a crowd that's already screaming their heads off.  Brian McComas is the opening act and that doesn't describe what he's like.  He's no ordinary opening act.  He and his band play a great twenty minute set.  Everyone knows 99.9% Sure but the way they react to the rest of his songs is incredible.  By the end you would think he was the headliner.  Then comes Chris Cagle.  This guy has always had an energetic show but since he's lost so much weight and has been hitting the gym he can't be stopped.  He'll be headlining very soon.  And finally Rascal Flatts hit the stage.  Just when you think the crowd is worn out from the first two shows they get louder.  So much can be said about Rascal Flatts but it all boils down to talent.  Gary's voice is so powerful and the  songs are nice and smooth.  The band, with whom I share a bus, puts together a tight sound and really bring it all together.

As far as backstage goes, not much happens during the day.  I've been playing a little NCAA football on Playstation with Brian McComas and his band.  Cagle is always working out and the Flatts are usually playing golf or fishing or something to pass the time.  Overall the entire crew and everyone behind the scenes make it a lot of fun.  I couldn't be out on the road with a nicer bunch of people.  I'll have pictures soon.  For now just watch the Top 20.  We shot this week's show in Chattanooga.  Take care everybody.

11-26-03
Okay this is all so... unfamiliar.  I feel like I haven't written in forever.  Hey wait... I haven't.  My sincerest apologies to everyone for my delinquent correspondence.  What can I say?  It's been a long and winding road.  The CMT Most Wanted Live Tour has traveled most of the country and I was there every step of the way.  In case you missed it, the show itself was amazing.  Each act really raised the bar for the next one and considering Brian McComas was the first, that bar was already pretty far up there.  I've been in this business for a few years now and I've seen some great new acts but I've never wanted anyone to succeed as much as Brian.  He's an incredible songwriter and absolutely loves the music.  However, my admiration for him goes beyond the music and performance.  Through the past three months I've had the pleasure of getting to know one of the most remarkable people I've ever met.  He stands strong in his convictions and that alone is a quality that sometimes fades in this industry of glamorous distractions.  Plus, he's simply the nicest son-of-a-gun you'll ever run by.  If you've been out to see the show and had a chance to meet him, then you know what I'm talking about.  Still, it doesn't end there.  Brian's band is made of a unique bunch of characters.  Actually they're simply a riot.  We'll start with the keyboard player, Steve, or "Ol' blue eyes" as I like to call him.  Actually I don't call him that but he does have blue eyes.  Anyway, Steve is one of the remaining "good" guys in the world.  That's not to say the rest of the band members aren't good but if I was older and had a daughter his age... okay wait that's getting weird.  Steve's nice.  Then there's Kevin, the fiddle player.  Like a few other people in the band Kevin beats me at playstation football all the time, and I quote "It's just my competitive nature."  To be honest, most of these guys are competitive, but Kevin's a funny guy.  That brings me to the second Kevin in the band, rhythm and lead guitar.  He's the self proclaimed "old man" of the band even though he's one of the youngest.  Kevin's old school country and I like that.  If you ask me we need more of that.  Kevin and I also share something else in common.  We bleed orange.  Go Vols.  Next is Seth, the drummer.  He might be one of the top 5 funniest people I've ever met.  If Calvin from the comic strip "Calvin and Hobbes" were about six feet tall, had dark brown hair and of course was a little older, he'd be Seth.  But then it would be "Seth and Hobbes" and I don't' know if he likes tigers.  Now we come to the other lead guitar player, Justin.  If I could sum him up in one word it would be talent.  He's talent, with legs.  I'll say it now, and I won't be the first because the guys in the band all know it.  Justin is going to make it BIG.  He's got a four song demo that's better than most anything I have in my entire CD collection.  But if I were to talk about his music the whole time you wouldn't know how much of a cool cat he really is.  Justin just drips cool.  Plus his middle name is Lance... 'nuff said.  Finally we come to Chris.  Chris plays bass.  I would stop there and he would think that's funny but I have to tell you that Chris could be my long lost brother.  I mean I have a brother but he might be my other brother.  That is to say that I've had some good heart-to-hearts with this guy and we actually share a lot in common, and he's funny too.  Now that you've met the band you should know the man that keeps these boys in line, Ron.  Ron and Brian went to school together and now is Brian's road manager.  He's one of the hardest working people in the world.  It's not because Brian is hard to manage but Ron deals with anything and everything that comes their way.  In all they make a good team.  Not to mention that Ron is an extremely generous and thoughtful person.

So there you have it.  The tour is full of great people, even outside of Brian McComas' band, all of whom I hope to keep in contact with.  Seeing as how we're near Thanksgiving and the tour is coming to a close I'm grateful for being able to say that all the people I just mentioned can all be called friends.  To everyone out there reading this.  I hope your holiday is full of warmth and laughter.  Be thankful everyday for what you have and be mindful of those that have less.  Happy Thanksgiving everybody.  I'm thankful for you.

12-11-03
Well it seems many of you have cast your vote on the whole issue of facial hair and from the way I see things, it's split 50/50.  But have no fear, I shaved.  Still, you can't blame me.  I've had the same little boy look for years.  Every now and then something's gotta give.  So for the next few weeks on the Top 20 you'll see the clean cut Lance you've always known.  If it matters to anyone, I kind of liked it.  So we could see it again.  Anyway, that's enough buzz of the fuzz.  Have I ever told you how much I don't like the cold?  Well I don't like.  Not one bit.  Although I do hate being hot as well.  What's wrong with a little in between?  In case you didn't know, Winter has begun it's ugly little parade through the country and this TV host needs to move to Hawaii.  I could still shoot Top 20 over there.  I have feeling the network would say no.  Oh well.

I hope you all are bundled up and watching CMT.  I'm going to put on another pair of socks.  Which reminds me.  If you hear the constant ringing of a bell as you walk into a store, dig a little into your pockets and give what you can to the Salvation Army.  It's for a great cause and it helps more than you know.  Talk to you soon.

Lance

12-31-03
So here we are.  Another year has flown by and we should all be a little wiser.  Should being the operative word there.  I guess that's what New Year's resolutions are for.  And how long does the average person stick to said self promises?  If I were to guess, I'd say a week.  So for all of you procrastinators out there, like myself, maybe this year we won't put things off until the absolute last minute of the final month and maybe we'll stick to whatever plan we conjure up to make our lives better.  Yes sir, 2004 is going to be a big year.  I can feel it.  Alright, everyone have a safe New Year's Eve.  And if anybody decides to get naked and run through the streets of their town screaming at the top of their lungs, tell the police I had nothing to do with it.  Happy New Year (almost)

1-09-04
Can you feel it in the air?  How exciting is this!?  If you can't tell I'm referring to the playoffs this weekend.  For those of you pulling for the Patriots... I'm sorry.  The Titans just look too good.  I mean McNair has had a little rest and with O'Donnell in at back up, who has mucho playoff experience...

Okay, okay.  Sorry I tend to get carried away when it comes to football.   Big game Saturday.  Period.  Anyway, let's see... got Country in the Rockies coming up.  I'll be hitting the slopes for the third year.  I'll also be reporting in CMT magazine so look out for that.  And not to mention football again, but I am going to the Super Bowl to shoot the Top 20 from all the pre-game festivities.  However, they're flying me out before game day.  Tragic, I know, but somebody's got to do it.   Well, I need to feed the dogs, take out the trash, vacuum... oh yes.  I am a domesticated man.  Actually my parents are coming over to watch the game on Saturday so, you know how it goes.  "See Mom, Dad.  I do pick up after myself!"

Alright, keep watching the show and I'll talk to ya soon.

1-15-04
As I hang my head low I congratulate the fans of the New England Patriots.  It was a great season and as they often say... "There's always next year."  But now I must pull for the Colts because, well... Payton is a Tennessee boy!  So all is not lost.

Anyway, what's new?  Not much.  By the way I saw the petition to get me back on Most Wanted Live.  That's one of the most flattering things I've ever seen.  I'm sure when that gets sent in to CMT I'll be hearing about it.  Thanks for the support guys.  It's rather unbelievable that so many people, many of whom I've never met, can stand behind someone like me.  Life's funny like that.  Alright, there's a few new pictures on the site and hopefully in the coming weeks we'll have more to offer.  Take it easy everybody.

2/6/04
Well as you can see the website has changed.  I'm just not a flashy kind of guy and I think the other color was getting to me.  This probably won't last long either.  Anyway, well after a long battle with the post office (something I don't suggest you do) my manager was finally able to get a hold of the long awaited birthday book... which I guess has gone from that to Christmas to New Years to Valentine's!  I'm practically speechless.  To the number of you that worked so hard in putting it together, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.  Flipping through, I can really see the time and effort that went into making it and I really don't know what to say.  You are the kindest people on the face of the earth.  I don't deserve fans like you but since you're here I hope you'll stay.  I'm going to show it to my producers at work and let them see who the real CMT viewers are.  I don't know how but I'm working on a way to show you my appreciation for following me all this time.  Thank you once again, so much.

2/16/04
Happy post Valentines Day and all that jazz.  I hope everyone was able to snag a Valentine and if you weren't, don't worry.  I didn't have one for years.  So I have never really cared for the day.  But this year Carrie and I went to Atlanta for the weekend and had the best time.  Plenty of shopping and good sushi.  If you ever get down that way I highly suggest checking out Buckhead.  Very cool.  Oh yeah, I've been wanting to tell you all this.  I am in love with music all over again.  I invested in an I Pod!  It is the most fantastic little piece of technology I've ever come across.  This past week I've been cramming every CD I own into this little 6 ounce computer and the best part is the program that works with the I Pod.  If you don't know what I Tunes is you should really check it out.  Buying albums and songs over the internet is so convienient and easy.  Plus there's always that one song you love but don't really like the artist or band.  Come on admit it, everyone has their little guilty pleasure that they keep to themselves.  You know you like Britney's new one, "Toxic".  Anyway, get I Tunes.  It's amazing.  Well that's going to do it this time.  Take care of yourselves and really be planning on what you're going to do with that extra day we've been given this year.  Feb. 29th is right around the corner.

2/21/04
Hello one and all.  Winter is almost over!  Okay so maybe it's not but one can hope.  I'm just not a big fan, still, it's been really nice around Nashville lately.  And that can only mean one thing... that's right, CMT Spring Break Concert!  In just a few weeks I'll be on the beach in Daytona with Keith Urban and thousands of sun soaked fans.  Man I've got a tough job.  So that should be fun.  And what else... Oh yeah, a lot of you have been taking advantage of the Ask Lance section on CMT.com.  Thank you.  My producer was really excted to see that kind of response.  You never know, your's might be read on the air.  Well sorry this was short.  I'll get out and live more life and report later.  Take it easy everone.

3/6/04
Busy busy busy.  So the latest fan for Got me in with the Band is very cool.  Her name is Mandy and she is one of the most dedicated country music fans I've ever met.  I just got back from Indy for the first half of the show, now next weekend I'll be in Houston to hook her up with Marty Stuart.  But that all happens after I travel to Daytona to shoot Top 20 and Spring Break with Keith Urban.  Speaking of Spring Break, it seems that CMT is a little concerned with my pale skin.  And I don't blame them.  Let's face it.  I don't get out in the Sun too much.  It was suggested that I might want to hit the tanning bed before I go.  A completely understandable request.  After all, I could go down there and burn just like I have the past two years.  But OH NO of course I take their advice and visit the tanning salon earlier this week and cook my body to a crisp BEFORE I go.  Apparently I went to the super bed that all you have to do is look at to get a tan.  Keep in mind this is only my second time to do such a thing and the first experience was much like this one.  Even now this is taking longer to type because I have to pause every five seconds to scratch my delicate, medium well back.  And just in case you're wondering, yes most people lay in the bed naked and NO, I did not.  I'm smarter than that.  The last thing I need is to be squirming my butt in an airplane seat while I fly from city to city hosting these shows.  So in closing if, in case, you see me out somewhere, PLEASE let's just shake hands.  I'll let you know when hugs aren't going to be detrimental to my health.  Take care everybody.  Oh yeah, make sure you visit cmt.com and check out the Ask Lance video section.  See ya.

3/24/04
Well I finally landed. I've been gone for so long I forgot where I lived. The Daytona shoot was great! Top 20's done and the Keith concert is ready to rock and roll. Got me in with the Band was smooth sailing as well. Marty Stuart IS country music. The man breaths this stuff. He was incredibly gracious to our fan Mandy and performed the most beautiful song about Johnny Cash. He had just written it and Mandy was one of the first people to hear it. Well, myself included. It's simply an amazing tribute to the Man in Black. And Dierks Bentley was blast to hang out with. I like that guy even more now. I already knew he was cool but just like me the guy is a fiend for Golden Tee golf. We played a little before he had to get ready for his concert. So then Michelle Poe, his bass player (and new artist) stepped up to the plate. I told her since her song was "Just one of the Boys", she would definitely have to know how to play Golden Tee. It's mandatory. And believe it or not, she's pretty good. She chipped in an eagle from off the fringe and to top it all off, she even learned what the fringe was. Okay this may not be very impressive to you but like I said, I'm a fiend for Golden Tee. Anyway, as many of you know Dierks pulled an Evil Knevil while on stage with Kenny Chesney. I spoke with one of his label reps the other day and she said that it's not pretty but after some surgery he'll pull through. So, Dierks, you're in our prayers. Okay gang that's going to do it. Flame Worthy Awards are right around the corner so make sure you vote. I'll see ya later.

4/18/04
My oh my, where do I begin... so much is going on my head is spinning. I know that when I'm done with this journal I'll suddenly realize that I've forgotten to mention something but I'll give it my best. First of all, my apologies to the "LanceSmithOnline" faithful. I know this entry has been a long time coming. Hence, all the busy stuff. Well let's start with the latest career news. In my ongoing pursuit of a film career I recently auditioned for the lead role in a short film. I'm happy to report that I will be playing the role of Will Phoenix, a rookie agent in a law enforcement firm. Do I look like a Will? I hope so because that's my next gig. We'll begin shooting at the end of May so I'll keep you up to date on how that all goes down. Maybe even some behind the scenes photos. It's nothing that will be seen in theaters but it will go to film festivals and you never know what could happen there. Let me see... what else is going on? Ahh, yes the Flame Worthy Awards. That's this coming Wednesday. I'll be sharing some of the red carpet duties with Katie and Cledus. Apparently my position in the show will be with the fans. So of course that's where I'll be happiest. If anyone will be there make sure you holler loud. Okay next thing... hhmmmm. Now I know I've been doing something, what was it? Oh yeah, that show called Top 20! How could I forget? All kidding aside, I really love doing that show. I work with the greatest people and I hope that no matter where my acting career goes I can still host Top 20 Countdown. Anyway, lately we've been having guests stop by. I don't know if you saw Gretchen Wilson on but she was great. She had been all over town that morning doing radio and then hit our studio. Let me tell you something, that girl is the real deal. I wish her the best in her career. Another artist that stopped by recently was Julie Roberts. What a sweet heart. Just as southern as she could be and equally as nice. And I couldn't get over how much she resembled Faith Hill. So I hope both women can come back by the set sometime. I do get a little lonely sometimes. Seriously, it's dark in there and since everyone sits in the control room it's just me and J.J. (camera) He's a friend and we get along great but he's always wearing a head set. Well speaking of lonely, I don't know if anyone is aware of this but my fiance, Carrie works on the road quite often. Her schedule is just as crazy as mine. And when you combine the two, sometimes we don't get to see each other for long stretches of time. I know she reads this journal every now and then ("Oh but every now and then...") when she's on the road and though we talk as often as we each get a chance I just wanted to take this time to tell her that I love her. So Carrie, you mean the world to me. I can't wait until I see you again. I love you.
Well I hope you guys out there didn't mind sharing in that little moment. Thanks for watching the show and for stopping by here. We'll have some more "Ask Lance" segments coming up on CMT.com . So look out for that. In the meantime, take care of yourself and someone else. (boy that sounded like the ending to a talk show didn't it?)

5/11/04
Hello everybody. Thanks for coming back to the journal. I know it's been a while since I last posted so your patience does not go unnoticed. Anyway, let's see what's been happening. I attended Special Olympics recently. For those of you who don't know, my brother has Angelman syndrome. It's a rare condition very similar to Autism but different in many other ways. I'll put it to you like this. He's the happiest kid on Earth. Next year he'll be attending high school at Centennial High back home in Franklin, and that's where the Olympics were held. He ran his race and came in third out of three people but still grinned from start to finish. He's a lot smarter than people give him credit for. He was winning the race, but stopped ten feet in front of the finish line and realized everyone was looking at him. He took his sweet time to bask in all the attention. Show off. Here's a picture of us on Halloween about five years ago. I know it's not current but it's my favorite picture.
So after the Special Olympics, there was Flame Worthy. I for one thought they did a great job. For the first time I actually got to sit in the audience and what the show. My parents were about ten rows back and they had a blast. All I've got to say is, the best part of the show was Little Jimmy Dickens accepting the award. Priceless.
Oh and I know it's not country but some friends of mine took me to the Prince concert here in Nashville a few days ago. WOW. It was one of the best concerts I have ever seen. The man is an incredible entertainer. I've never been the biggest Prince fan and I still can't say that I'm going to go out and buy every one of his albums but I highly suggest buying a ticket if the show roles through your town. It's so worth it. Plus, they're giving away his current CD to everyone that buys a ticket. I give the album 3 out of 4 stars. Michelle, the girl that does my makeup on Top 20, would kill me if she read that. She loves him.
So that's all that's happened lately. We begin shooting the movie soon, and I'm flying to North Carolina to tape the show in two weeks. I'll give a full report, promise. Take care everybody.

Okay, not much time... flying to Los Angeles.  Coming back on Wed.  If you saw the Top 20 last week I had a ball with the NASCAR shoot.  And yes, I am good luck.  Whoever's coming to town this weekend, CMT has me signing from 2:00 to 3:00 on Saturday.  Come on by and say hello.  Um... let's see.  Oh yeah, the movie is done and should be available this fall to early winter.  So I'm looking forward to that.  Well I'll let you know what else is going on when I get back.  Take care
Oh, I almost forgot.  If you saw the ACM Pre Show, I got to interview Dr. Phil... AND IT WAS AWESOME!  (big fan)

Hello?  Is anyone there?  Has it really been months since I've posted?  I think it has.  What else can I say but, I'm sorry.  In case you've been following me on CMT, we shot CMT's Greatest Road Trips and my dog Carlos got a little T.V. time.  He had a lot of fun but when it came time to get some driving shots, he decided to lay down.  Who's ever heard of a dog that doesn't like to hang his head out the window?  It's probably because he doesn't really like moving vehicles.  Once, when we were coming back from fishing at the lake by our house, he thought it would be smart to jump out of the back of my truck... while it was moving.  Keep in mind, my truck sits on a 4x4 suspension so it's not exactly low to the ground.  But when Carlos gets it in his mind that he's going to do something, he will do it.  He now rides up in the cab with me.  Well what else is happening?  Oh yeah, I'm hearing that the Top 20 will soon become a two and a half hour show.  None of us really like that the videos get cut but sometimes it has to be done.  This way everyone should be happy.  I don't think that starts until October.  Well, if any of you saw the last Top 20, all I can say is I'm still pumped.  I didn't get to go as fast as most of the cars that run but I was still haulin' butt!  152 mph in 8 seconds!  We hit 123 mph in 4 seconds.  That's when my heart was really racing (no pun intended).  If I ever get to do that again, I'm all over it.  There's talk of us doing a Top 20 with me jumping out of a plane.  I'm still tossing that idea around, but you know that I'll end up doing it.
Alright sports fans, it's football time in Tennessee!!!!!!  And I'd like to congratulate all the week one winners out there, especially my boys in the Titans organization.  My sympathies to all Miami fans.  It's bad enough you get three hurricanes but you've got franchise problems as well.  Anyway, my prediction for the 2004-2005 NFL season is as follows... Tennessee vs. Seattle in the Super Bowl.  Titans win 24 - 20.  I'm not saying to bet the farm on it, but that's my call.  Okay, I'm off to do whatever it is I do.  Take care of yourself and someone else, and you WILL hear from me soon.  (because I'm back in town)
